Celebrate Hope
For our Associate Research Director, Dr. Elaine O'Loughlin, working for CURE Epilpesy is personal. She is supporting the search for a cure, in honor of her daughter, Fiadh, who has epilepsy.
When Fiadh had her first seizure, her family's world changed in an instant. Fiadh was diagnosed with infantile spasms and focal seizures in 2021. She failed more than twelve medications. As a neuroscientist, Elaine understood the science, but as a mum, she was simply trying to save her child. Because Fiadh's epilepsy was focal, she became a candidate for surgery.
Thanks to advances in science, Fiadh underwent a multi-stage surgical approach in 2023.
Today, Fiadh is celebrating more than two years without a seizure. Her family is endlessly grateful, but also know many families are still waiting for treatments that work. And with cuts to federal research funding, that wait is now longer. That's why your support of CURE Epilepsy is crucial.
Your generosity fuels the research that gives children like Fiadh their life back. Stand with the families who are still waiting. Make your gift today.
